How to use RS32 port/adapter?

RS32 Ports are used to physically control the attached display (primarily to turn it on and shut it off during inactive hours to save power, and to verify that the screen is actually on.) We’ve implemented some rudimentary support for LG, NEC and DynaScan screens.

The best dongles are those based on the PL2303 chipset

One problem with RS232 is that the connectors aren’t well standardized, and you may need male-female, or female-female adapters

RS232 support can be enabled on Terminal level from the user dashboard (Edit -> Screen Controller). Note that for RS232 to take effect, you also need to specify active venue hours.
